Vocational Training in Panama

Most of Panama’s wealth and power are held by a small number of very rich families while approximately 40% of the population live below the poverty line.

Manual labor accounts for 77% of workers’ income in Panama. There are high rates of unemployment among the urban poor, and particularly high levels for urban women and youths. Disparities in education are key contributors to poverty, malnutrition, and inequality in Panama. However, with computer training classes, children and adults are able to find better jobs and improve their standard of living.
