El Salvador Relief What Is The Project? Click Here To See Photos Of This Project The Simply Help Foundation delivered disaster relief in Usulutan in 2001, after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 on the Richter Scale caused a major damage in El Salvador. SimplyHelp Volunteers collected medicine, food and clothes and sent four full containers of 50 tons each, to the disaster area. Each container benefitted 5000 families
El Salvador’s National Emergency Committee (COEN) reported 726 deaths, 4,421 injuries, 1,016,440 people affected, 74,955 houses destroyed, and 109,359 houses damaged. The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimated that 68,000 people had been evacuated, and that 60,000 people were living in temporary shelters.
Future Activities The Simply Help Foundation will continue to assist victims of natural disasters in the future.
