Love from Local Community in Los Angeles to Belize

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belize was entrusted with a container of charitable goods from SimplyHelp Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles with Taiwanese Americans as members dedicated to relieving poverty by providing emergency disaster relief, vocational training, and shelter and care for homeless elderly.
The charitable container arrived in Belize in April this year with a full load of miscellaneous goods including new handbags, suitcases, toys, satchel bags, backpacks, thermal belts, soccer balls, ceramic gift items, shoes and used clothes etc., approximately 400 boxes in total, to be donated to the needed or disadvantaged people in Belize.
The Embassy has identified several charitable organizations or institutes in Belize to receive the different items in the container respectively, such as Sister Cecilia Home for the Elderly, Special Olympics Committee, Salvation Army, and some other women’s or children’s care centers. Taiwanese Ambassador Benjamin Ho has begun to hand over those charitable articles in person on behalf of SimpyHelp Foundation since last month.
SimplyHelp Foundation was founded in 2000 by its president Ms. Tina Bow in Los Angeles. It obtained Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2005, and is now active in 23 countries especially in the region of Central America and South East Asia. The unselfish and unconditional love from Taiwanese expatriates to Belize is another testimony of the abiding friendship and profound affection between the peoples of Taiwan and Belize. Belize entertains an important spot in the radar of Taiwanese vision.
