Our organization participates in the Surplus Property Donation Program of the County of Los Angeles. 
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA—There are many unemployed and homeless people who are in need because of the ongoing economic recession today. This Holiday season, SimplyHelp is working with the LA County Department of Public Health and Department of Mental Health to help distribute winter clothing and offer housing and unemployment resources to the homeless and poor living in downtown LA. SimplyHelp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of those living in poverty by providing job skill training, homes for the homeless elderly, and disaster relief in 22 countries around the world.
SimplyHelp will kick off this month by providing donated jackets to a group of homeless people living in Alondra Park, LA on November 10, 2010. The LA County government will jointly provide resources to help people who are unemployed and homeless. SimplyHelp will continue to hold many of these kinds of events throughout November and December this year to help the homeless and poor.
We invite community members to participate in volunteering to help pack donations to distribution throughout November and December. SimplyHelp will host multiple community events for volunteers to help pack and sort winter clothing and gift bags every 2nd and 4th Sunday each month.
